telling the truth

friends,

After a while you get used to slow politics, like a quiksand dragging you down. and it is understandable because, it is a big risk that a politician takes when he makes statements and then hopes it is the right thing to say and the effect is the one that he said would happen.

However, even now after a long career in the international setting it is hard to understand that we still believe that in a digital age we can still get away with saying one thing and doing another. time after time, reaching a final display at the Copenhagen summit i have watched my collegea's step into there own minefield and wonder why they are blowing not only there own promisses up, but also the trust and suppport of the public. you can make things happen with support. the only thing you have with mistrust is resentment.

almost nobody is interested in politics, but is the general population giving up or are politicians becoming more expert at not telling the truth?
i have included 2 video's. 1 about inside politics and 1 about the seemingly strange and bizar way american republicans think about global climate change.

where is the trust? where is the truth?

Re: telling the truth

Hello Lovers of Truth!
It is quite understandable how frustrating it can be when you are dealing with double faced individuals! I however don't believe that politicians are necessarily liars, pretenders or just corrupt folks. The idea that politics is a dirty game is not always true. There are good politicians and bad ones. It depends on which ones you are dealing with. And it is only dirty politicians who play dirty politics.
I can understand your disappointment with the American Republicans belief about Global Climate Change, but they also have strong reasons to think that way because the world system dynamics are directly or indirectly based on self-interests, what you, your people, your country will get in the long run. There is always more than what we see on the surface. What happens behind the scenes or underground may be another story all together. No matter what happens, there will always be conspiracy theories, investigations, inquiries to determine who is really behind the whole thing and who will benefit from it.
As the whole world was made to believe that swine flu was becoming unstoppable and that all nations should buy the flu vaccines, stories are starting to emerge questioning why there is excessive, exaggerated publicity and manipulation about swine flu. A certain Mr F.William Engdahl published an article entitled, "European Parliament to investigate WHO and Pandemic Scandal" in which he indicated that the Health Committee of the European Parliament had unanimously passed a resolution calling for the inquiry into the influence that pharmaceutical companies on the global swine flue campaign have on WHO.(To see if there is corruption between WHO, the pharma industry and academic scientists .)Going back to Climate Change you also may know that there have been reports that some scientists are said to have provided exaggerated information on climate change to make the global warming look more dangerous and scary.
I personally believe in Climate change course and support the call to take real global action based on true facts not on distorted and manipulated information to suit the hidden agenda. The whole world is now asking if the Copenhagen Climate Conference was a success or a failure. How will Copenhagen resolutions benefit Africa? Not only Africa suffers from almost constant droughts and famine, Sahara which is the biggest hot desert in the world is in Africa. And the same continent suffers from a number of other detrimental deserts. Who really cares about the climate change of Africa? Even the next Climate Conference will be held in Mexico! Africa has many climate needs but shall it be allowed to have a leading role in Climate Change Initiative? Well, time will tell.
In conclusion, telling the truth shouldn't be seen as prime moral responsibility for politicians only. It is for everyone, you and myself included.
That requires us to reverse the trend which makes people to go where money is, we will have to go where the truth is. We will know the Truth and the Truth shall set us free!
